DPS USE — RURAL TOWING AREA

Maximum allowable rates for DPS-initiated towing. Firms may charge less but may never exceed them. Schedule reviewed biennially (even-numbered years) per A.R.S. § 41-1830.52.

BILLING RULES & NOTES

  1. All rates are maximum allowable. A firm may charge less but may never exceed the rates on this schedule (TSCA Section 6).
  2. Hourly rates are prorated in 15-minute increments after the first full hour. Billing begins when the tow truck is dispatched or en route and ends upon vehicle delivery (TSCA Section 6.8).
  3. Unless directed otherwise by DPS or the vehicle owner, vehicles must be delivered to the firm’s nearest DPS-approved VSF by the shortest reasonable route. If delivered elsewhere without direction, mileage and storage may not be charged (TSCA Section 6.9).
  4. When a heavier-class truck performs a lighter-class tow, only the lighter-class rate may be charged. A higher rate applies only when authorized by the on-scene DPS Trooper (TSCA Section 6.10).
  5. Accepted payment: cash, cashier’s check, money order, major credit/debit cards. DPS is not responsible for towing, recovery, or storage fees (TSCA Section 6.12).
  6. All services shall be invoiced and paid in accordance with TSCA terms. No charges other than those listed on this schedule shall be assessed or collected.
